Michael Sakowitz — Director: Marketing Communications

Mr. Sakowitz is the Director of Marketing Communication at Ventera, where he sets the strategic direction for all corporate communications, including marketing collateral, the company’s website, advertising, press releases, and corporate capability presentations. Mr. Sakowitz works with the company’s business unit leaders and other senior managers to ensure that Ventera’s marketing messages support, and are consistent with, the company’s corporate goals and strategy.

In addition to his marketing communications responsibilities, Mr. Sakowitz also directs all major proposal development activity for Ventera. He reviews and analyzes new business opportunities; organizes the proposal effort and conducts kickoff meetings; develops proposal schedule, outlines, templates, and styles; authors proposal sections; organizes and conducts in-progress reviews; and leads and performs all proposal production activities. Michael also supports numerous corporate-level programs, in areas including recruiting, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, business development, and strategic planning.

Michael brings a broad array of skills to Ventera, acquired during his 27 years of experience in the IT professional services industry. He has been a project and program manager, business unit technical director, quality assurance manager, operations director, and recruiter. In addition, he has worked in every aspect of software development, from design and development through testing, training, and ongoing support. Prior to joining Ventera, Michael held similar communications and proposal positions with two local small businesses. Before that, Michael was with SRA Corporation for more than 18 years, as the company grew from about $2M to more than $250M.

Michael received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Virginia.
