Gary Spaid — Strategic Solutions
Mr. Spaid is Executive Vice President at Ventera, and leads the company’s efforts to build strategic solutions for our customers. Working closely with the company’s business directors and client managers, Mr. Spaid helps them to formulate a vision for meeting customers’ needs, present the solution to the customer, and provide guidance and direction to those who implement the solution. Prior to his current position, Mr. Spaid led the company’s Financial Services business unit.
Gary brings a broad range of capabilities to his work, with 16 years of experience in program and project management, IT investment process reengineering, product assessment and selection, data center implementation and operations, and methodologies associated with structured lifecycle development. Gary’s technical areas of expertise include large systems design, local and wide-area networking, database design, relational database systems development and maintenance, client/server architectures, systems integration, and IT assessments. Mr. Spaid is certified in the Rational Unified Process (RUP) – an industry-standard software development methodology – and is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He also participates as an active member of the local chapter of the Project Management Institute. Gary provided executive-level management consulting support to Fannie Mae for nearly four years. As part of that support, he provided business operations analysis, IT vision and strategy, budgeting and capital planning expertise, and managed the development of several custom software applications. Under Gary’s leadership, Ventera’s support to Fannie Mae grew significantly between 2002 and 2006. Gary also created Ventera’s Strategy-to-Solution (S2S) framework for business process improvement. Prior to joining Ventera, Mr. Spaid was a Managing Associate in the Government Consulting Practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC). While there, he led the establishment and operation of a $5M IT support center for Ginnie Mae. Under Gary’s leadership, the project team was assessed as operating at SEI CMM Level 2 – the first PWC engagement ever to achieve SEI CMM compliance. Mr. Spaid earned a BS in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh. |
