Ventera Vice President Wins HR Leadership Award

McLean, VA - June 12, 2007 - Katherine (Kitty) Nix, Ventera's vice president for human capital management, has been honored by the Human Resource Leadership Awards of Greater Washington. The HR Leadership Awards, sponsored by Marymount University, honor "human resources executives for outstanding contributions to their organizations and to the field of human resources management." The awards were established in 2001.

Finalists and award winners are designated in six areas: leadership, strategic alignment, innovation, mentoring, community services, and promoting ethical behavior. Nix's award was in the strategic alignment category, which "honors an individual for creating the path to connect manpower talent and goals within an ethical framework to support corporate achievement insuring profitability and sustainability."

Nix joined Ventera in 1999 and has served as the only HR director in the company's history. In addition to leading the human capital organization, she also works closely with Ventera's CEO in directing the company's annual strategic planning process, and she has designed and implemented numerous corporate programs, such as "career development coaches" for all staff, and engaging an executive coach for the senior management team.

Nix holds a bachelors degree in computer information systems from James Madison University, and recently received a graduate certificate in executive leadership coaching from Georgetown University.
