Ventera Establishes Communications Industry Advisory Board

Board includes experts from throughout the telecommunications industry

Ventera Corporation, an information technology professional services firm, announces the creation of a Communications Industry Executive Advisory Board. Creating this Board was a top priority for the company in 2007, as the company seeks to:

  • analyze and better understand Communications industry trends,
  • develop strategies to better leverage Ventera's existing service offerings for the industry,
  • create new products and services in order to improve Ventera's industry position, and
  • promote industry thought and implementation leadership for site and spectrum process efficiency, management applications, and innovation for carriers in the communications industry.

The defined mission of the Board is to advise the management group of Ventera's Communications Services business unit in each of the above areas, which will aid Ventera in creating an effective strategy for continued growth in targeted functional business areas.

The Board held its inaugural meeting in late June, at Ventera's McLean, Virginia headquarters office. Todd Ashworth, Vice President and the lead for business development in Ventera's Communications business unit said: "We were very pleased with the results. This inaugural meeting helped set the stage for future results, and gave the Board members the chance to learn more about Ventera and their fellow advisors. The success of the meeting was due to the participation, candor, and spirit of sharing information among all of the attendees. "

Ventera expects to conduct Board meetings twice a year, and for Board members to remain connected to the company through occasional conference calls on specific industry and business issues. The next meeting, currently scheduled for November, will help to shape the business unit's strategy for 2008.

The Advisory Board has six members, each of whom is an expert in the Communications industry:

Susan Yezzi is a former Vice President with Cingular and Verizon Wireless, and an expert in wireline OSS/BSS.

Geoff Stearn was previously the Vice President of spectrum at Sprint/Nextel, and is an expert in spectrum management.

Kurt Gastrock is a former Sprint Sites Vice President and an expert in cell site management.

Dr. Steve Walters is an internationally recognized expert in telecommunications, as well as an inventor, a former Executive Director at Telcordia, and Past President and Chairman of the ATM Forum.

Mark Crosby is currently President and CEO, Enterprise Wireless Alliance, and is an expert in wireless spectrum management.

Earl Blasi is currently Vice Chairman, Integrys Holdings, and is an expert in software and services for the communications industry.
