Ventera Corporation Named One Of 50 Best Places To Work In Washingtonin a fun and positive work environment for long-term careers -- McLean, VA -- May 17, 2005 - The Washington Business Journal has named Ventera Corporation one of the "50 Best Places to Work In Greater Washington." This latest award recognizes Ventera's continuing emphasis on attracting, retaining and taking care of employees in a positive work environment. The accolade follows a similar award from Computerworld magazine - which named Ventera among the "100 Best Places to Work in IT." The Journal selected Ventera from among 230 companies nominated in the greater Washington area. As part of the selection process, employees completed online, anonymous questionnaires about their company that asked about how the company encourages and supports employees, recognizes achievement and whether employees are proud to work there. Questionnaire results, along with an evaluation of benefits and perks, all went into the selection process. Robert Acosta, Ventera's CEO, said, "From the very beginning we wanted Ventera to be a special place. We felt that if we could create a professional environment where people had a healthy work/life balance, enjoyed working with other outstanding people each day and were trusted to make smart decisions on behalf of our company and our customers, we'd have a company culture that would help us grow into a great company. It's an honor to be recognized by the Washington Business Journal as a great place to work." Ventera encourages both personal and professional staff development by providing career counseling, professional training, interesting work, a fun environment and a healthy work-life balance. The company also provides generous benefits -- fully paid health, dental and vision insurance; a 401(k) plan with matching company funds; a bonus program available to all employees; stock options; flex-time and casual dress. There is also a strong emphasis on community service and employee events such as golf outings and family picnics. Ventera has won numerous awards. In addition to being among Computerworld's Top 100 companies, the company has been named three times among the region's "Fast 50" companies by Deloitte & Touche. It was also a finalist in The National Capital Business Ethics Awards presented by the Greater Washington and Northern Virginia Chapters of the Society of Financial Service Professionals in partnership with George Mason University.
