Ventera provides financial institutions with management, business analysis, and IT support services to help them better manage their business, reduce their costs, and get more from their IT investments. Ventera’s consultants work alongside managers at the most senior levels, on tasks such as preparing annual budgets, prioritizing IT projects, and developing methods and processes for running IT projects.

Recent projects include:

  • Design and development of a web-based application for a Fortune 10 global bank.
  • Developing and executing detailed test plans on major application systems for that same bank.
  • Conducting data migration in support of a complex financial forecasting model for a New York-based investment-banking firm.
  • Conducting technology assessments for a regional U.S. bank.
  • Developing portfolio management and project management strategies for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

In addition to these projects, for the past five years Ventera has provided wide-ranging IT and professional services support to one of the world’s largest financial services firms. Ventera has successfully delivered for this customer by helping them to conduct strategic planning and portfolio management, redesigning key business operations, and implementing applications to improve operations. Specific areas of support are described below.

Enterprise-level Strategic Planning and Analysis

  • Developed comprehensive project plans (including project vision, scope, risks, ROI, resource estimates, GANTT chart, and organization chart) to help managers gain funding for their high-priority projects.
  • Helped senior management analyze competing projects and set priorities to meet enterprise-level objectives.
  • Provided capital planning expertise to help the customer:
    • Prioritize and properly fund the best investment opportunities;
    • Evaluate opportunities against each other in an objective, consistent way; and
    • Apply appropriate project management and review processes during project execution.

Technology Assessment and Business Analysis

  • Defined process and technology “quick hit” initiatives to address high priority needs with limited time and resources.
  • Conducted an assessment of CRM products; customer implemented the recommended system.
  • Redesigned key business processes to help the organization reduce costs and operate more efficiently.
  • Analyzed common functions across disparate business units, in order to better standardize data and work processes, enable more data sharing and cross-selling to customers, and develop enterprise business strategies.

Application Development and Implementation

  • Migrated a mission-critical application to a web environment, modernizing the user interface and enabling simultaneous access by multiple users.
  • Developed a web-based automated investment project pipeline and approval system.
  • Built an operational data store, consolidating data from 20 source systems.
