InSite Application Redesign
Customer Challenge:
T-Mobile’s cellsite management application, InSite, required a redesign to meet the evolving business requirements of the company. Due to multi-billion dollar investments in expansion of T-Mobile’s network, the homegrown cellsite management tool called InSite became increasingly critical yet could no longer meet the business needs due to an antiquated design. T-Mobile was faced with the challenge of redesigning the entire InSite application, creating a more flexible system for an ever-changing industry. Ventera’s goal was to deliver a modernized, adaptable design mapped to the current groups and business processes.
What we did:
By looking at the application design from a business process point of view, Ventera was able to work directly with over a dozen stakeholder teams to map the current business process. This allowed everyone to have a fresh look at the process first, without having to compare the steps to the older application’s functions. After they delivered a comprehensive rewrite of the site development process, Ventera created a clickable wireframe demo and technical architecture of the new system.
Results:
- The successful rollout of the redesigned application provided better support to T-Mobile business processes
- The stakeholders were able to review and confirm an application design with Ventera’s independent team, resulting in a dramatically different system design.
- Business processes were defined by designing an integrated workflow engine.
- T-Mobile obtained a modernized Custom-Field engine which enhanced both flexibility and reporting for the end users.
