Quality Assurance
High quality projects deliver the required product, service or result within scope, on time, and within budget. Quality assurance supports the delivery of high-quality products and services by providing the appropriate visibility into project processes and work products to determine when corrective action is required and to leverage best practices and lessons learned across the organization. Ventera's approach to quality assurance links the standards provided by the PMBOK with CMMI Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) and Rational Unified Process (RUP) best practices.
Quality assurance practices that are applicable to the project shall be documented in the Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) Plan for the project (or within a Process and Product Quality Assurance section of that project's Project Management Plan). At a minimum, each project shall perform the following quality assurance activities:
- Periodic reviews to evaluate adherence to project policies, procedures, and standards performed by the Project Manager
- Periodic reviews to evaluate adherence to project policies, procedures, and standards performed by an independent party (auditor)
- Ongoing tracking of non-compliance issues through resolution
- Periodic lessons learned sessions to capture best practices and areas of improvement in support of continuous improvement
- Corporate level quarterly Quality Assurance Reviews that follow the standards defined in the Ventera Quality Management Plan.
Corporate Quality Assurance
Ventera has established a Quality Management Plan that is a corporate-level policy. Ventera’s Quality Management approach consists of three components: Customer Service Scorecard (CSS) assessments, Quality Assurance (QA) Reviews, and Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) Audits.
Corporate quality assurance activities are completed by independent and objective resources outside of the program. These activities are to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services by providing project staff and managers at all levels with appropriate visibility into, and feedback on, processes and associated work products throughout the life of the project.
Program Quality Assurance
Ventera has defined quality procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent quality assurance. These procedures are documented in the Program Processes quality assurance guide. They include procedures for determining effort, managing documentation, conducting client iteration review sessions, developing code and testing, preparing release packages, and deploying to each environment and testing.
Each project will adhere to the following procedures:
- Level of Effort is determined utilizing the guidelines and standards defined in the Program Processes.
- Client deliverables must have a formal internal review prior to delivery.
- The developers and Business Analyst team conduct testing in the INTEG environment.
- Regression testing includes testing selected scenarios.
